Choreographed Sound
In Choreographed Sound, the movement comes before the sound, and the body itself is actually directing what is occurring sonically, unlike the traditional format in which a song is composed and then dance and movement is created in a result or response to that sound. In this piece, Sally Vaughan examines themes of body, sound, identity, and space, using her performance to explore what happens when the order is reversed, and how the sound will be affected when it is controlled by movement.
